Basic pesto recipe

When you buy too much organic basil, for a recipe, make pesto from the leftovers! This freezes well, with a bit of olive oil at the top.


Basic Pesto
2 cups packed basil leaves
1/3 cup olive oil
1/2 cup pine nuts or walnuts (whichever you have or like more)
2 cloves garlic minced
1/2 cup grated parmesean cheese
pinch of salt

Directions:
1 Place basil, nuts, garlic and salt, in food processor.
2 Blend until thoroughly combined.
3 Drizzle the olive oil through, and blend 5-10 seconds more.
