Apple Sour Cream Kuchen


This is from the Cake Mix Doctor. I brought it to an International pot luck, at work, and it had rave reviews! I had a few pieces left over, and my boys loved it, too! I told them it was a coffee cake, and the asked for coffee to go with it....That didn't happen...


Apple Sour Cream Kuchen


1 box yellow cake mix

3/4 to 1 stick butter

3 c. apples, sliced

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

1 scant c. sour cream

1 egg, beaten

2 T lemon juice


Blend cake mix, sour cream and 4 T butter and blend. Pat into greased 13 x 9 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

Toss sliced apples with lemon juice.

Arrange apples on top. Combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle on top of apples. Pour remaining butter over apples. Bake for another 25 to 35 minutes or until apples are tender.
